Travel Advice
Most of us travel abroad, be it frequently as part of our work or more occasionally as part of our holidays so we need to adhere to some travel advice guidelines before we go. Whether we go by car, train, plane or ship, we rarely think about the possible threats to health associated with travel. Possible health problems posed by travel include:
- Diseases that we would not expect to encounter in our own country but which are prevalent in others e.g. yellow fever, malaria etc.
- Personal security and road safety.
- Poor healthcare standards, not only for diseases or injuries presenting abroad but for pre-existing conditions that we take with us e.g. asthma, diabetes etc.
- The effects of travel itself from the relatively trivial like sea sickness to the more major like deep vein thrombosis.
Up to date information is available regarding health risks and immunization requirements worldwide. A schedule of travel vaccinations can be arranged.
